Maria’s Testimony

My son had an accident while he was Speedboarding (luge style skateboarding.) He was wearing a helmet and a full leather bodysuit. It is a type of sport that he competed in. He was going downhill at 45 mph and hit a rain gutter on the road. He was thrown off his board and crashed into a mountain wall and hit his chest, shoulder and head. He was then airlifted by a helicopter to a nearby hospital. There was swelling and bleeding in his brain. His liver and kidney suffered severe lacerations, and the internal bleeding caused his lungs to collapse. He was then put on a breathing tube and a Burr hole was made to release the pressure from his brain injury. Before leaving to San Diego, I asked Pastor Him and Pak Narto to pray for my son. When we arrived at the ICU I saw my son lying unconscious but I did not worry, I felt the presence of God surrounding my family and me. I was peaceful knowing that God was in control. We prayed and believed in His words. Then miraculously, on the 5th day the doctor took out his breathing tube. We were told that this kind of injury would take months to fully recover or might not even be able to function normally but despite what the doctors said, he was able to go home on the 16th day. Amazingly, he has already gone back to school at UCSD as if nothing has happened. The therapists said that was truly a phenomenon. From this experience, I would like to encourage all of you to have a daily relationship with God, so if anything bad ever happens, you will know that God is in your favor.
