The word of God says, that heaven is His throne and the earth is His footstool (Acts 7:49) and He’s told to sit at the right hand of the Father until He made His enemies the footstool of His feet (Mt. 22:44) — that means Jesus won’t come back until He has accomplished the dominion of all nations. When we’re talking about occupying the seven mountains (Family, Religion, Government, Education, Business, Media, and Art), most believers on the face of the earth Read more

Last week I wrote a simple article on the importance of having God’s perspective. Some people look at the glass half empty while others look at the same glass half full. Some time ago, I saw a black and white picture and when you see it from one angle, you’ll Read more

Be Prepared and Have the Right Perspective

“Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’”(Josh. 1:11) They were commanded to follow the Ark of Covenant that was brought by the priests, but to stay about two thousand cubits away from it. They could not come near it so that they may know the way by which they must go, for they have not passed that way before. It was something new for them. (Josh. 3:2-4) And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the Ark of the LORD, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest), that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap. (Josh. 3:13-15) “Preparation” in athletics is the training discipline prior to competition. At school, it is the study before the exam. In business, it is the due diligence you need to do before the deal. In our walk with God, preparation is called trust and obeying in preparation for greater things. At that time  the Jordan River was flooded and the priests had to carry the Ark of the Covenant-where the presence of God is -to the edge of the river. Looking at the water below, they were probably terrified of what would happen if they stepped in. But by trusting God, the priests took the first steps into the Jordan. Immediately, the river water stopped and the people could pass through on dry ground. From the time God promised the Promise Land from their forefather Abraham, until the time Israel arrived at the bank of the Jordan, over 500 years had passed. With God working in every detail, He still scheduled them to arrive there during the flood stage. Have you ever felt like that before? Lord, of all times for an investment opportunity to come along right when the kids need braces, when the car needs a new transmission, etc – and here somebody comes along with a new opportunity. Why in the world is it happening now? So often we feel God is really immuned or have a lack of concern of our well being when He plans His schedule. It’s as if He’s planning it in His timetable and it’s too bad if it doesn’t work for you. But if we read in the entire parenthetical statement, it tells us that God didn’t get them there during the flood stage – He got them there during the Harvest Time. It’s the same time of the year, the same river, and at the same place. What’s the difference?  The difference is the “Perspective.” Some people might focus on the flood instead of the harvest.  God cares for us so much that He gets us to the Promise Land at Harvest Time. The Promise Land is not heaven, it represents the right here, right now, and that we live in fulfillment of God in this life now. Be prepared and have the right perspective.
